paul habeeb. blog.

Today I redesigned the ?? 2006 trip blog. The old design was the same as this one, but with a few tweaks. The new one it totally different and I like it a lot more than this one. I don’t plan to switch this one over to it, but I may do a new design for this blog as well.

My school’s spring break started today, so I have no school at all for the whole of next week. I talked to my boss at work, and she gave me some extra hours, so my next two checks should be unusually large. I have figured out that I can have my dad payed off by 21 April. After that I just have to save the $3000 for the ?? trip. Most of that money will come from working in the summer, though.

As I mentioned on the ?? 2006 blog, yesterday I received my passport in the mail. I was excited, after all I had been waiting since the end of January to get it. Next week Paul Coey and I will be getting together to plan for the trip and to purchase the tickets. There’s no turning back after that purchase.

Campus At Night

03-12-2006

Yo pienso…no, nevermind. I was going to do a bilingual post, but I decided not to, seeing as it is nearly 12.00 PM and I am quite tired.

Last night my friend Paul Coey and I went to the Korean restaurant Dorcas down on campus. The food was okay; when I ordered I thought I was getting fish, but it turned out to be sprout soup with a few chunks of fish in it. Next time I’ll have to make sure to get something I am more sure of, such as ???. Paul got some dish with chicken in it, I’m not exactly sure what. In Korean restaurants, along with your main dish, they always bring a few small extra things, like ?? or tofu dogs, and one of his looked like rabbit crap. Apparently it tasted alright, but I would not be persuaded to try it. I tried their ??, and it was actually alright at first, but it had a bad aftertaste, whereas the other ?? I’ve had is bad all the way through. I’m not sure which I like least.

The restuarant itself was amazing. It was like stepping back into the seventies, although everyone was wearing modern clothing. The decor screamed seventies to the both of us, and it was a fun experience. There was a faux brick thingie beside us and I almost knocked it over a few times.

After our meal we moved our cars to a location that was not Burger King, because we were afraid we would be towed. We walked around for a bit, going nowhere in particular, but seeing a plethora of attractive ladies. We went into the student union for a bit and saw an ex-coworker of ours. I didn’t think that it was really him, but it ended up actually being him. We didn’t talk much, but it was cool to see him. We left the union and just walked around some more. We walked everywhere, but never got lost. We passed by Illini Tower, which was cool, because I was thinking about living there next year. I’m sure we passed a bunch of places I’ll be next year.

We hung out on top of a parking garage for a while, and we decided to go back next weekend with more people. I went back today and took some photos of the surrounding buildings. Being on top of the garage and just chilling was really fun, probably the most fun I had all night. When we were up there, and even when I was there by myself today, everything felt great and nothing mattered. It was just us two guys, hanging out, having fun, and not caring. Our trip to Korea is going to be exactly the same, but better. Much better.

I had to pick up my sister from a school sponsored bowling night at 11.30, so we parted ways. And that concluded my night on campus.
