Tonight at 7.30 is the YELLOWCARD (w/ the Starting Line) CONCERT!!!!!!! I bought four tickets - one for myself, one for my sister, and I was planning on taking two friends, but one is already going and the other never got back to me, so I’m trying to sell them to another friend [who is still deciding]. BUT it should be a great show. I already have all my homework done and my room cleaned [the two things I had to do before I could go], so I’m ready!!! I’m ready, I’m ready, I’M READY!!!!!!!

Jimmy Eat World

10-25-2004

Another music recommendation! I just bought the new Jimmy Eat World cd, and it definately is high on my list. I see that DougTV has a new episode out. This is the 3rd episode, but they numbered it as one, because the first two episodes weren’t the greatest according to some [I liked 'em], and so they are actually doing like a real tv show now. School calls….I’m out.

mmhmm!!!

mmmkay….so I’m not usually into this kinda music, but everyone owes it to themself to check out Mos Def’s latest cd, “The New Danger”. Although it falls into the hiphop category, I really like it. Theres pretty much something for everyone on there. So yeah….check it out!!!!!

Teachers Smeachers

10-08-2004

So last night I had some thing that I was thinking about about teachers, but I can’t remember it now…it was pretty good, too. I just forgot it I guess. I another problem with something else that I can’t remember either, but I guess I just had a great day so I forgot about ‘em. I didn’t really do anything today, though. Weird.

Freedom. I support total freedom. Freedom to do whatever you want whenever you want. This does NOT mean that I support all of the things one could do with that freedom. Just take a second to think about it: God lets us be free, and lets us do whatever we want. Shouldn’t the government do the same. I know that God tells us to obey the government, unless a law goes against something he says. The government really shouldn’t be able to tell us what’s right and wrong - we should have to decide that for ourselves. Perhaps, though, that the government telling people what is right and wrong goes along with the Great Comission, as long as the law is in alignment with the Bible. I suppose I’m still undecided on this issue. I find that sometimes it’s very hard to balance things. Things like government and Christianity. That’s the beauty of being human, though, isn’t it? We are extremely flawed, and can’t seem to be non-hypocritical. We say one thing, yet do another. Better yet, we’ll say one thing, but say another thing that totally contradicts the other statement. In the sayer’s head, however, I am positive that everything makes sense and seems noncontradictory.

That’s all for philosophy/government today. On to my life. This week is spirit week at school. On Monday we were encouraged to dress up as a movie star/movie character. Tuesday was school colors, today was Wacky Wednesday, tomorrow is Tropical Thursday, and Friday we are to wear our class tshirts. Tomorrow I’m going too look like Louis Stevens from Even Stevens, wearing my Hawaiian shirt with a long sleeved shirt underneath. Mine will match, though. Louis has the craziest style. Shia once said that his and Louis’ styles were totally different, and that he wouldn’t dress that way normally. Perhaps all actors are this way?

On Nov. 2nd the new Relient K cd comes out! I’ve already heard 5 of the 14 songs, and they sound EXCELLENT. I just hope I don’t get tired of the cd before it comes out. That’s all folks!

Finally!!!

10-05-2004

For the past five minutes I’ve been trying to balance one of the screws from my computer on top of another one. All while listening to Geek Love Radio. I finally got it though, and I feel very accomplished. ARRRRRRRRR. I just bumped the table and they fell over. Whatever. I don’t feel like redoing it. OOH, I just did it again! Yes. MMMMMKK. Today I headed out to the mall after school and picked up that pink shirt that I thought PacSun had, but couldn’t find. I got the last one they had. I really need this next paycheck, because I have to pay my parents for the tickets to the Yellowcard/The Starting Line concert. I’m taking my sister for her birthday. I have two extra tickets that I’m probably gonna sell to my friends, but I still have yet to call ‘em up. On Sunday, David brought his Apple iBook to church. It was the booooooooomb. I totally need one. I’m just gonna put $50 away each month so I’ll have around $2300 for one for college! I don’t want to buy one now and then have an obsolete piece of technology for college. Hopefully I can be faithful in doing that. I don’t have to worry about software either, because I discovered something I didn’t know about when I had my last mac - OPEN SOURCE!!!!! I’m not sure how often I’ll be posting because I didn’t do too well on my midterms. I’m not banned from computers, but I have to study a lot more and actually put effort into school. I may still post the same amount, but currently I’m not sure. Adios for now.

Yawn…

10-02-2004

Just got back in from work about 15 minutes ago. I had to walk home in the FREEZING COLD! It’s 10C but it feels like 8C. Mmmmmmkay, I started this entry almost an hour ago, and I barely have three sentences. Just been doin other stuff. The internet as a whole is feeling kinda slow today. Everyone’s probably being ddos’d or somethin. What should I do today? I have absolutely nothing to do at all. I’d like to just drive around, but that gets kinda boring after a while, especially if you’re alone. Perhaps I’ll find some people and we’ll go play pool. That sounds like fun. There’s really nothing to do during the day in this town. Going to a small school doesn’t help either, because I don’t want to hang out with the majority of the people there. That leaves people that I randomly meet, from work, and from church. I don’t randomly meet people that often [although it does happen...], people from work usually already have things to do, and there aren’t that many people from church to hang out with. I guess I’m just stuck. :/

school, NOT!

10-01-2004

Today I don’t have any school. There wasn’t any yesterday, either. The teachers are on some trip to a conference, and apparently the administration doesn’t trust us enough to leave us at school alone, so we must stay at our homes. Who would ever want to do that? MEEE! Yesterday I slept in until 2…yeah…2. Today only until like 10, though, so I guess it kinda balances everything out.

For various reasons, I keep several other blogs with the “official” blog companies like livejournal, modblog, xanga, and blogspot. I don’t update them as often as I do this one; all I ever post is “check out my other site, skilar.com”. The best one out of those four, though, was definately modblog. It had some pretty good features, and more of a community sense. I’d have to say that xanga comes in a close second place. I’ve used it for less than a month, and I’ve already found like five or six people I know in real life, unlike modblog where I only had online friends. I mean, the online friends are cool and all (sometimes cooler than me real friends), but I find it cool that I can read about the lives of my friends, or what they are really thinking. Also, 4/5 of the friends I found on xanga either have moved away, or don’t go to my school anymore so I don’t get very many chances to see them. Now I guess I do.

Right in the middle of typing this entry I took the Meyers Briggs Test, and although I had taken it before and I got the exact same letters as last time, the percentages are different. Here’s the results:

Introverted (I) 73.53% Extroverted (E) 26.47%
Sensing (S) 63.89% Intuitive (N) 36.11%
Thinking (T) 75% Feeling (F) 25%
Perceiving (P) 50% Judging (J) 50%

So I guess I’m ISTPJ? It said I was ISTJ, but I’m pretty sure I’m both P and J. Whatever. I took this over on similarminds.com. Take it and post your results!

Oh yeah, props to atomix for linking me.
